ME WRITING, A BLOG
I decided to start a blog.
I have been writing since I was a small child. I never did anything special with it, also because at my parents´ house my sister was the writer and I was the visual artist. Which is funny, because actually my sister is also a visual artist and I am also writing.
I am very superstitious and traditional in my own way. So I give a lot of meaning to occasions that I define as ground breaking and important, even if they are very trivial to others. So upon my birthday, after reaching to a past narrative that defines a significant part of my identities (a journey to my maternal ancestors places of birth and living), I decided to make my writing public. Not anymore as the background to my visual or performative work, but as something that can stand for itself.
I have a complicated relationship with languages. My mother tongue is Hebrew. My mother’s mother tongue is Greek. My children’s „Mother tongue“ = their strongest language, is German.
I am mostly reading and writing in English. Which means, I do make grammatical and some spelling mistakes once in a while. But at the same time, this became the main language I think in. And therefore, the language I can express myself the best in.
